The purpose of this course is to familiarize operators with the design of the activated sludge process, how the process works, the microbiology used, and laboratory tests that are used to monitor and adjust the process. An overview of activated sludge, including the microorganisms in the process, is included. Monitoring, including microscopic, to maintain process control is reviewed.
